New camera time. We’ve just added two new Canon camera bodies: EOS 1D Mark IV and the EOS 5D Mark II. The 1D Mark IV is a simple progression up from the two 1D Mark IIIs we already own, whereas the 5D Mark II is a bit of a stop gap until the real star of 2010 arrives, the predicted 32 megapixel 1Ds Mark IV. We had a meeting with some Canon people yesterday in Calumet’s Manchester store, who, as expected, knew absolutely nothing. One of them told us: "We only knew about the 1D Mark IV four weeks before the launch… " Our best guess is probably August or September, unless they’re having probing development issues.
Over the coming weeks and months we’ll let you know how we get on with both new additions, in particular the HD movie capture capabilities they both offer. It should be fun!
