I recently read an article posing the following question: Could Canon’s new 16.1 Megapixel EOS 1D MK IV be the first digital camera you don’t have to replace? I would say not a cat in hell's chance. In addition to the new 1D’s blisteringly quick 10 fps shooting speed, I know it can also handle full 1080p HD movies at 24, 25 or 30 frames per second, with 720p up at 60 frames per second. But I’ve go a funny feeling the 1Ds MK IV, when launched, could be close to 30 Megapixel. Years ago Canon engineers and developers told us 20 Megapixel was the top of the mountain - a figure we’ve long since broken. With ever powerful software to iron out the lumps and bumps it seems like sky’s the limit.
