Sun, sea, sand and Swedish steel. It's all here!

We’ve been shooting a bit of stuff for Volvo Cars of late, including this ’ere XC60 - shot late one night on the beach at Black Rock Sands. We had an identical pair of them, and in our opinion is it’s quite a cool car. The model you see here is the two-wheel-drive XC60 SE Lux powered by the company’s formidable D5 diesel, although they also make a 4x4 (AWD) version too. If you’ve never driven one of these babies, part of your life is missing something; not least because the seats are to die for on long hauls. Other worthy mentions should go to the built-in, crystal clear Bluetooth hands free phone package (we managed to connect two iPhones in under 20 seconds), the opional power operated tailgate and razor sharp road holding.
Trying to catch this sort of image (hand held) is often difficult enough; throw low light into the mix and it becomes a real mission - especially when you’re as tired as hell. All credit to the two assistants I had on the day who, despite an eye-rubbing 4.30am start, were still with me late into the evening. Taken with the Contax 645, 35mm lens, Phase One P45, 125/sec, f6.5 @ an ISO of 200.
